Biological Risk Management

The Human Biosafety Health Foundation is committed to developing and implementing integrated strategies for the prevention, containment, and management of biological risks, with particular focus on high-impact pathogens. All activities strictly comply with the International Health Regulations (WHO, 2005) as well as current European and national biosafety legislation.

The main operational guidelines include:

✓ Developing validated protocols and best practices for biological risk management in healthcare and emergency scenarios;

✓ Conducting studies and research projects aimed at identifying and characterizing emerging biological threats, with assessments of epidemiological risk and potential impact;

✓ Providing technical-scientific support to public entities, research centers, and health authorities for the planning and implementation of biosafety measures;

✓ Integrating biological risk management into multi-threat contexts, including CBRNe scenarios, with systemic and coordinated approaches;

✓ Designing and applying advanced risk analysis methodologies to mitigate the vulnerability of healthcare emergency systems and ensure rapid, effective, and proportionate responses in crisis situations.
